Bake Sale At the Best

On Jan,29th local 5th grade Conerstone Learning Community class teamed up with 4th and 8th grade to put on” Haitian Food for Haitian Lives”, to raise money for Haiti. They served everyday food that Haitians would eat.

There  was also a bake sale to follow the meal. Everyone brought in  cookies or some baked good, for the bake sale, even people from other grades who just wanted to help. They made posters to advertise for the bake sale.

5th grader Augie quotes “It was a phenomenon”. Another says “it was the longest line I have ever seen  ever seen”.

The line of the bake sale had about 75 people in it. They sold cookies, cupcakes, things called 5 Bars, and etc. In total they made $1200.75, 100% of that is going to Haiti.

Our Fundraiser, “Haitian Food for Haitian Lives” Review

Our class (with the co-op of 4th and 8th grades too) performed a great deed on Jan.29th, 2010.

Thank You, if you attended, if not, well, it wasn’t exactly on national news.

But…

Check it at:

The Best and Worst Family Trip Ever

You are at home and it’s the day you are going to Conecticut (to see your grandma and your cousins). You are very excited. You  put your bag in the car and drive off to the air port.

    BAD THING:

You are in the air plane and you are very board. The air plane is in the air and you are still board. Then some one’s baby starts to cry, so then you look in the Skymall book thing but you don’t like anything they have in it.

    GOOD THING:

Your at your cousin’s house playing tons of mind rotting video games.

    • Make sure the whole map is legible.
    • Make sure the map has the “5 C’s of Keys” (Compactness, Columns, Contrast, Correctness, Consistency)IMG_6094
    • Always make the key too big at the beginning – cutting off is better/easier than adding on.
    • Always capitalize counties, states, cities or any other thing.
